SAP’s October–December 2026 campaign offers developers and consultants one free Joule Studio certification attempt, to be completed by December 31. The required exercises and exam share a 24-hour window after practice-system access begins.
Who can use the offer
Under SAP’s eligibility rules, any learner with a valid Universal ID can register and accept the terms. A paid Learning Hub subscription and personal Joule Studio subscription are unnecessary; premium Hub content and live sessions are excluded. Registration is once only, with no replacement commercial attempt until January 1, 2027.
Resolve the account setup before reserving a study session. SAP’s Universal ID guidance requires at least two associated email accounts, with the second from a different provider. That also helps preserve access when changing employers.
Study first, then build and explain
Start with Developing with Joule Studio, the learning journey linked to the certification. Its stated prerequisite is an understanding of AI. The syllabus covers creating and extending agents—AI software that carries out tasks—and building workflows with the automation tool n8n. This is specialist preparation for SAP development, not a general introduction to using chatbots.
Use that current journey as your reference when choosing other preparation material. SAP distinguishes Joule Studio from Joule Studio Classic, the earlier environment within SAP Build. A tutorial with a similar product name may not match the work this assessment expects.
The certification page says candidates must create agents in the practice environment and use their completed exercises in the assessment. An AI avatar asks them to demonstrate those agents and answer questions. The practical preparation goal is therefore to explain what you built, not just recognize product terminology.
Plan around two separate clocks
SAP currently lists a two-hour scenario-based assessment with a 60% passing score. Those two hours are the exam allowance, not the total learning or exercise time.
The campaign FAQ ties the wider access period to practice-system enrollment, also describing it as first access. Check the activation warning before proceeding. The December deadline’s timezone is unspecified; avoid last-day plans.
Starting the exam begins its own countdown. Pausing the AI roleplay does not pause that timer, according to SAP. Plan breaks before the examination, rather than assuming the pause control buys more time.
Planning example: after completing the exercises, reserve the listed two hours for the exam plus a one-hour buffer—three hours of practice access remaining in total. That buffer is an assumption, not SAP’s requirement or a tested schedule. Neither deadline changes.
The public learning-journey overview does not establish a total study duration. Nor is there a verified exercise-time estimate to build a complete schedule around. Do not treat this as a promise that a beginner can earn the credential in a day.
Check the assessment setup in advance
Microphone and connection: SAP’s scenario-assessment guidance requires microphone access and makes camera access optional. Company networks can block services used by the roleplay. Resolve permitted access with IT beforehand; opening the SAP Learning homepage alone does not establish that the assessment will work.
Language and format: the exam listing offers multilingual AI-guided roleplay or an English-only recorded video. Check the current language selector for your needs. SAP says the human-reviewed route can take up to 20 business days for results. That is a result-processing delay, not extra time to complete the assessment.
Decide whether the credential fits your plans
This route makes most sense if building SAP agents is relevant to your work or a specific learning goal. SAP describes the qualified developer’s role as participating in a project team with mentoring. That is a narrower claim than independent mastery, and it provides no basis for promising a job or salary increase.
Separate the initial offer from the cost of maintaining the credential. SAP’s general practical-exam guidance describes 12-month validity and a 90-day renewal window. Its standard renewal options are Learning Hub access for Stay Certified assessments or purchasing and retaking an exam annually. Check your own certification dashboard for the applicable due date.
If your employer supplies Learning Hub access, the renewal decision differs from paying personally. Clarify that support before treating the initial fee waiver as a long-term saving. Choose the assessment because the skill fits your plans, then prepare the account, equipment and uninterrupted time to demonstrate it.
